2 babies story

Rumi

Not Christian or Jew or Muslim, not Hindu, Buddhist, Sufi, or Zen.

Not any religion or cultural system. I am not from the east or the west, not out of the ocean or up from the ground, not natural or ethereal, not composed of elements at all.

I do not exist, am not an entity in this world or the next, did not descend from Adam and Eve or any origin story.

My place is the placeless, a trace of the traceless. Neither body or soul.

I belong to the beloved, have seen the two worlds as one and that one call to and know, first, last, outer, inner,

only that breath breathing human being.

Body posture taken form "The illuminated Prayer" by Coleman Barks & Michael Green

The following images show the sequence of body prayers that I do every night - I've added a few words to help you guess at the feeling I hold in my heart as I do this sequence of postures.  This prayer is inspired by Sufi Salat and evolved after I shared Salah with some muslim men in a mosque:  please note that my prayer shown in the following pictures is an inter spiritual personal prayer and not representative or any spiritual traditions (e.g. I miss out one of the Salah postures and there are other significant aspect of a traditional muslim prayer like ablutions and reciting the Koran that I do not do).

All the image below are from an amazing book called 'The Illuminated Prayer: The Five-Times Prayer of the Sufis' by Coleman Barks & Michael Green.
